Madonna has �done a Britney� and been photographed riding in a car with her adopted son on her lap � without a seatbelt on.

Spears caused massive controversy when she was snapped doing the same with her son Sean Preston last year � although she was admittedly also driving at the time, whilst Madonna was travelling in the back seat of a chauffeur driven off-road vehicle.

However, by travelling with Malawian-born David Banda on her knee Madonna was still breaking Los Angeles law, which dictates children under six must be secured in a special child seat.

A spokesman for the RAC added to the Daily Mail, "Not wearing a seatbelt in the back seat of a car is irresponsible.

"Having a child on your lap with no seatbelt is doubly irresponsible.  Madonna is breaking the law and, worse, endangering a child's life."
