James Brown s body was finally placed in a crypt yesterday after laying unburied since his death on Christmas Day.
The soul superstars body was placed in a crypt during a procession led by his widow Tomi Rae Hynie and their at his Beech Island, South Carolina home.
Browns children had apparently decided to hold the ceremony funded by their own money whilst the legal dispute over the singers estate continued.
Tomi Rae told the Associated Press, This is what James wanted, for the family to come together. Everyone really felt like James was there with us.
Rae, who is disputing Browns will as it did not mention her, added that she and her son would be relocating to South Carolina to to carry out James' plans.
She explained Brown wanted to turn our marital home (into) a Graceland. He wanted us to have a James Brown museum.
However, Reverend Al Sharpton, who presided over yesterdys ceremony, said Browns body will not be Browns final resting place as a public mausoleum is being built.
He commented, Where he is now has nothing to do with court proceedings.
