Darren Lynn Bousman, director of "Saw 2" and 3, has announced that next year he will be working on the 80's cult classic "Scanners".

Released in 1981, and starring Michael Ironside, "Scanners" concerned a group of people with telekinetic abilities who put them to rather grizzly uses.

The film is famous for a scene in which Ironside uses his powers to blow a man's head up, which should be right up Bousman's alley after all that on-screen torturing.

Bousman will direct "Saw 4" first, starting "Scanners" in early 2008 for a release later in the year.
