Recent Oscar winner Dame Helen Mirren has been rumoured to be joining a former winner, Sir Anthony Hopkins, in a movie about the making of the 1960's classic "Psycho".
Universal studios are keen for Hopkins, who has played everything from American Presidents ("Nixon") to psychopaths (the "Hannibal" movies), to star in "Hitchcock Presents", named after the late director's late night TV show.
The film will concentrate on the obstacles Hitchcock faced making the film, which was deemed too dark for 1960's America. The studio is also eager to cast Mirren in the role of Hitchcock's wife and long-time collaborator, Alma Reville.
A script is in place and Ryan Murphy, creator of TV's "Nip/Tuck", is poised to direct the film.
