Terrified Cast Were Scared Of Forest Whitaker

Forest Whitaker may have won the Best Actor Oscar, but for his fellow actors on the set of The Last King Of Scotland his performance was perhaps a little too realistic.

Apparently Forest was in character as the Ugandan dictator Idi Amin to such an extent that he terrified his castmates and friends.

"I didn't see my friend Forest Whitaker there once because he was always Idi. There was always one foot in Forest and one foot in Idi but he never let himself completely detach from the spirit of Idi Amin" explained co-star Kerry Washington, who plays Idi's wife in the film.

She added: "It was incredibly inspiring but incredibly frightening. I was scared for myself and for him because I understood where he was going as an actor, but I didn't know how he was going to come back from this."

Looks like all the scary work was worth it though...
