Guy Ritchie's father has revealed that his son's marriage to Madonna was saved by their adoption of Malawian orphan David Banda.
The highly controversial adoption raised issues of international law, but now it looks as though the child has been a force of good, if only for the once bickering couple.
"Things have settled down and are great between them. Since they have had David they feel very content" John Richie told The Sun.
He added: "He (David) makes them feel very happy, they feel blessed. They may have had their problems but they are now a very functional and happy family unit."
