US State Refuses To Honour U2's Bono

At least one brand of officialdom arent falling over themselves to prostrate themselves at Bonos feet the US state of North Dakota has refused to honour the U2 singer.

Representative Scot Kelch had put up a resolution to honour Bonos unstinting work fighting poverty and disease in the Third World, but the motion was kicked out.

Republican Gil Herbel admitted to being underwhelmed by the proposal saying when he first saw the name Bono he thought it referred to singer-songwriter turned politician Sonny Bono.

He says, When I saw the resolution, I was looking for Cher's name in there.
