Timbaland has announced the title and the release date of his second solo album ? eight years after the release of his first album, Tim?s Bio.
The album - titled Shock Value - is scheduled for a March 28th release date and includes collaborations with Bjork, The Hives, Jay Z, She Wants Revenge, Snoop Dogg, Fall Out Boy and Elton John.
Those fortunate enough to have heard a preview have given resoundingly positive reviews. The first single will be ?Give It To Me? and features Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, the track was awarded five stars by Pitchfork media who refer to it as exhibiting ?a talent immune to formula, a miracle of bankable avant-gardism?. That says it all really...
Speaking to AllHipHop.com the ground breaking producer said that as well as commercial success, he was also aiming to push the boundaries of music as well. "Shock Value is sequenced like a movie, it's a non-stop flow that tells a story. My mission is to blow up the boundaries and tear down the limits. I'm not getting away from what I'm known for; I'm just going to a place where it's all about the music, not about the labels on the music. I'm taking my music outside of the box. That's why I call it Shock Value - from the artists to the production, it will shock the system."
Timbaland is currently touring with Justin Timberlake as a special guest on his FutureSex/LoveShow World Tour.
