Factory Records founder Tony Wilson has been diagnosed with cancer after a routine check up with his doctor.
The Manchester based music mogul had surgery to remove a kidney last month a now faces further treatment for the disease.
According to the BBC during the check up his doctor identified that there was something �seriously wrong� with his right lung.
After having the lung drained it was revealed that his right kidney had been �completely consumed by cancer."
He will now undergo two five-day treatment sessions at Manchester�s Christie hospital.
Wilson was the brains behind Factory Records which launched the careers of many Manchester bands including Joy Division, New Order and The Happy Mondays.
He also co-founded the legendary Hacienda nightclub and his life was brought to the big screen in the 2002 movie 24 Hour Party People.
