Snoop Dogg has entered a not guilty plea to possession of a deadly weapon at a Californian airport last September.

The controversial rapper is charged with the alleged offence when police discovered a collapsible baton in his luggage on September 27 at the John Wayne Airport.

Snoop real name Calvin Broadhurst did not attend the hearing at the Orange County Superior Court, but his lawyer entered his plea. He now remains on police bail.

If Snoop is convicted of the alleged crime, he could potentially face three years behind bars.

He claims that the baton was a prop used in a music video which he shot in New York.

As previously reported, it wasnt the only time Snoop landed in hot water last year. In October he was arrested at the Bob Hope airport in Burbank for allegedly being in possession of a gun and marijuana.

While, a month later he was taken in by police outside the NBC Studios in Burbank, this time regarding claims illegally having a firearm, cocaine and marijuana.

No further charges have been filed against the rapper in connection with these arrests.
