James Cameron, director of Titanic, the most successful film of all time, has confirmed his return to film-making.
To be filmed entirely in 3-D, Avatar will use a mix of live action and computer animation to tell the story of a group of humans battling the population of a distant planet, report the BBC.
"We're going to blow you to the back wall of the theatre in a way you haven't seen for a long time," the 52-year-old director said. "My goal is to rekindle those amazing mystical moments my generation felt when we first saw 2001: A Space Odyssey, or the next generation's Star Wars."
Its been ten years since Cameron last made a film. Avatar is due for release in 2009 and will cost a reported $190million to make.
Thankfully theres no water involved this time around.
