Former Heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson was arrested on drug and driving charges yesterday.

He was stopped in his car by police after leaving a nightclub in Scottsdale, Arizona.

According to Sgt Larry Hall, �He showed signs of impairment and voluntarily submitted to field sobriety tests.�

The TMZ.com website adds that further sobriety tests showed Tyson to be �under the influence of a depressant, stimulant and cannabis.�

The stimulant is thought to be cocaine with officers apparently finding the drug in the 40-year-old�s car.

Tyson � who checked into rehab earlier this year � also apparently told the arresting officers that he �is an addict and has a problem".

The pugilist was booked at Maricopa County Jail but has now been released on bail. He served a custodial sentence in the early nineties for rape.
