Australia's Farmers Strike Back Against Pink

American popstar Pink has enraged Australian farmers by asking her fans to boycotts Australian wool.

While performing in Paris earlier this week Pink said: "I am calling on consumers to check labels on sweaters before buying them and if they're merino wool or made in Australia, to leave them on the racks."

She then went on to show a gruesome PETAS video that she said exposed the Australian wool industry.

The back lash has not been slow in coming and Aussie farmers have been quick to dismiss Pink and PETA.

One farmer, Bill Heffernan, told Melbourne's Herald Sun: "You get somebody and I'm not referring to her (Pink) buy you get people who spend their time plaiting their armpits, smoking pot and sniffing coke and become world experts."

Australias Treasurer Peter Costello added: "Australia's farmers are doing it tough. They are good people. I just don't think Pink understands sheep to the extent that farmers do."
