According to the Mirror, Mills has been threatened in revenge for claiming that her estranged husband Sir Paul McCartney mistreated her during their marriage.
Merseyside police contacted police in Sussex to inform them that they evidence that a non-specific threat could be made on the life of Mills.
Her local police have supplied Mills with the panic button but this has not stopped her from feeling scared, says her spokesman.
He said: �She is frightened, but she�s more worried about Bea than anything else.
�She has been told who these characters are and the worrying thing is they have a violent past.
�The problem is she can�t really do anything to protect herself apart from keep a watchful eye.�
Mills� panic button connects directly to her local police station; however, they do not believe that an attack on the former model is �imminent�.
Mills has in the recent months complained about being able to afford proper security staff�maybe she will have to fork out for some real protection after all.
