Ronnie O'Sullivan Walks Out On Snooker Championship Quarter Finals

Snooker player Ronnie OSullivan left fans gob smacked yesterday when he walked out on the quarter finals of the Maplin UK Championship.

Ronnie was competing against Stephen Hendry; he was halfway through the game when after missing a shot he gave up, telling a shocked Hendry: Ive had enough.

Hendry said later: Its bizarre. I cant criticize Ronnie because I dont know what his thoughts or reasons are.

Hed just won his first frame and was among the balls on the table. He went for a dodgy red, missed it, then came up and shook my hand and said, Ive had enough.2

He came into my dressing room afterwards. I said, Is anything wrong? He said, No, Im just fed up and have had enough.

Ronnie himself said in a statement: I wish I could have played a better game, but I had a bad day in the office. I am a perfectionist and got so annoyed with myself that I lost my patience and walked away from a game I should have continued.

I wish I could have given Stephen a better game, and Im sorry I didnt stick around to sharpen him up for his semi-final. Im also really sorry to let down the fans.

I am feeling disappointed with myself and hurt and numb, but I am a fighter and I will be back on my feet fighting stronger and harder than ever very soon.
