Houston and her mentor Clive Davis are hoping that the Senegalese rapper will rejuvenate Houston�s career with some modern tunes that will launch back into the charts.
Speaking to MTV Akon recently said: "I'm working on more up-tempo records for her. She's been through a lot and has a dark history. So we've got to make the album brighter because she's come out of the cave now.
"She wants a celebration. She needs to come back to the old Whitney we remember".
Rumour has it that Whitney will also soon be recording to another popstar hoping for a big comeback, Michael Jackson�
