Mills has been heavily criticised in the media since it was announced that she and Sir Paul McCartney were to divorce.
Since then leaked divorce papers showed that Mills was claiming that McCartney had beat her during their marriage making her the target of a campaign of hate.
Although Mills recently claimed during an interview that the public were supporting her and even hugging her in the street, comments on her website tell another story.
Now, Mills� sister is screening all emails before they are posted on the site so as not to cause the former model any distress.
According to MonstersandCritics, one post read: "Dear Heather, you are nothing but a bloody gold-digger disgrace... go to your bloody minefields, preferably without a detector."
Another read: "His kids were right about you. You will never be a lady! Linda was a real wife. You are a nobody. Now clear off and disappear!"
A source said of the public�s reaction to Mills: "She is deeply upset about how people have turned against her. The reality is she often gets abuse in the street when she goes out."
Maybe she should just stay in?
