Shelly, who appeared in �The Unbelievable Truth� and �Trust� was found dead by her husband Andy Ostny on Wednesday evening. Au autopsy was performed the following day but no cause of death has been announced.
In recent years Shelly had focused on writing and directing rather then acting; she made her directorial debut in 1996 with �Suddenly Manhattan�.
More recently she wrote and directed �Waitress� starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion which was about to be released.
Her agent Rachel Sheedy said of Shelly: "She was incredibly creative and a tremendously prolific writer, and I don't know, she was the girl you'd go to if you were sad,"
"She was an incredibly beautiful woman.�
Shelly is survived by her husband and their three year old daughter Sophie.
