The only European�s awarded were The Kooks for Best UK and Ireland act; Muse for Best Alternative; Justice Versus Simian for Best Video and Depeche Mode for Best Group.
The American artists who took some silverware home included Rhianna for Best R & B; The Killers for Best Rock; Bets Female went to Christina Aguilera while Kanye West won Best Hip Hop.
