Hollywood heavy weight Tom Cruise has become the boss of United Artists just a couple of months after being dropped like a hot cake from Paramount Pictures.
Cruise and his production company partner Paula Wagner are teaming up with MGM Studios to resurrect the company that was founded by stars of the silent screen Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford back in the 1920s.
Cruise failed to have his multimillion dollar contract with Paramount renewed after the studio head Sumner Redstone said of Cruise "his recent conduct has not been acceptable"; I think he may be referring to the jumping on couches etc.
Now Cruise has hit back with this new deal; as well as being the companys chief executive, he and Wagner will be calling the shots.
Lets hope he takes a more Magnolia approach then a Mission: Impossible one.
