Naomi Watts has been signed up star in a remake of Alfred Hitchcock�s classic horror film �The Birds�.

The blonde Watts will be playing the role of Melanie Daniels originally player by Tippi Hedren in 1963.

According to moviehole.net the film�s script is being re-worked by Leslie Dixon and will be directed by Michael Bay.

A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
