Izzard has been lined up to play a villain in the show starring Keifer Sutherland, but dropped out after just one day of filming.
He is now instead working on a new series called �The Richies� with fellow Brit Minnie Driver.
His spokeswoman said: �There was a scheduling problem. Eddie�s part in �24� was made bigger and it clashed with another huge project for him so he had to pull out.�
