British award winning comedian Eddie Izzard has quit the hit US TV show �24� after just one day of filming.

Izzard had been cast as a villainous accomplice on the show named McCarthy; but something went wrong.

What caused Izzard to drop the show like a hot potato is anyone�s guess; British actor David Hunt has now replaced him.

Izzard is instead working on a TV series with Minnie Driver called �The Riches�.
