Cheryl Tweedy: Don't Call My Ashley Greedy!

Girls Aloud�s Cheryl Tweedy has told critics to stop accusing her husband Ashley Cole of being greedy � because he does a lot of work for charity.

The newly-weds have acquired a reputation for being cash-obsessed after their lavish wedding closely followed soccer star Cole�s supposedly money-motivated move from Arsenal to Chelsea.

But Cheryl moans to the Daily Mirror that she is furious at the reports.

She says, �People call me names all the time � but it hurts more when I hear Ashley being called them. It�s so far from the person he is.

�They don�t know how much he does for charity, he keeps that private. He even gets offended if I try to pay the bill when we�re at a restaurant.�

Tweedy has also denied she's coveting Victoria and David Beckham�s status as top pop star-footballer couple after striking up a close relationship with the former Spice Girl at the World Cup.

�I just clicked with Victoria, she is absolutely lovely,� she says. �I text her all the time. But there is only one Posh and Becks - we could never follow.�
