Former drug addict Chris was caught on camera snorting a line of cocaine in the bathroom of a London club before he went about judging a lap dancing competition.
His agent Babs Epega has released a statement that reads:
Some people go through recovery and think, 'I beat it.' It's not the case; it is something that you're going to have to deal with for the rest of your life.
Chris Brosnan's personal journey has been an uphill struggle the whole way - he has the continuous challenge to confront and deal with the myriad problems of temptation that confront him daily.
We have worked with Chris to "clean house" from top to bottom, our job has been to focus and help build a career for him - which he has done, from the ground up.
We've had to rebuild trust.. it takes time. We are a lot further along the road than we were two years ago or even six months ago, but our journey continues.
There are no words that could explain how we feel about the use of illegal drugs. We can only extend our deepest apologies to family, friends, fans and all those who have recently shown support. Chris has expressed a strong repentance for what he has done, has accepted the consequences, and is at this time taking recommended rehabilitation and time out.
I am sure that you all are aware that he has had a blossoming career in Film and Music Video Production. His God given talent, earnest contributions and enthusiasm for life cannot be denied. Our hope is that in the future, he will show himself to be a true master of his destiny.
Chris's responsibility towards his family, friends, fans, society and children who can be influenced by celebrity behaviour, is even heavier than previously and we hope to support him in every way we can.
He will be working even harder to stay clean, focused and faithful to his life plan, putting any words of remorse into reality and that will be the only true apology.
Good luck to him.
