Seven time Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong is to run the New York Marathon.

Armstrong will trade his bike for running shoes next week (November 5) and says he has always planned to run more after retiring.

He told Reuters: �It�s been a goal of mine for a long, long time.�

He added that the training had been toughing than he thought it would be especially the pounding on his knees.
