Boy George Hits Out At New Culture Club ...more Boy George »

Boy George has blasted the reformation of his former band Culture Club that features a new singer.

After seeing a video of the new bands performance on Myspace he described front man ?dreadful? and ?terrible?.

He told the BBC: "I wanted to like it but I couldn't. They're my songs, they're my heart, they're my life.?

"To me, the mark of a good band is when someone else can't successfully sing their songs, and he can't sing my songs."

The new Culture Club are set to tour the UK in Deecmeber, we?re guessing George won?t be in the audience.

  • I was at the launch gig of the new Culture Club and believe me, the new guy is a lot better singer than Boy George. George is obviously smarting because Culture Club have found a real talent, able to easily replace him. It was wonderful to hear the old songs again, and I hope Culture Club have lots of chart success with their new material.

  • Culture Club were always Boy George and his backing band wether any of them (George included) liked it or not. George has moved on in life.. the remaining 2 origional band members that are in this latest incarnation should move on too. Culture Club will only ever work with Boy George as its frontman.

  • I too was at the gig. I must say that Sam did an extrodinary job. Boy George is just scared that he will be forgotten. How can Boy George compare himself to Elton John and Madonna? He is just a washed up pop star who hasn’t had a hit in years. George is jealous that his last album with Culture Club had no hits and wasn’t played on Radio 1. Sam and the new Culture Club are going to pick up and go further than the original.

  • I find it interesting tht George hates the new Culture Club, but never saw them perform live. I saw them live. They were absolutely fab. As strong, if not stronger than the original. Why? Because the band was happy. Something that was not seen during the final tour of the original Culture Club. People should not comment until they see this band live. They will only get better over time. I have seen Boy George recently perform. Sam’s voice is better than George’s sorry to say.
