Jude Law has become the latest actor threatening to leave Hollywood for an existence on stage.

Law is hoping for a return to the London stage where he first made his name and where he thought he would stay.

Speaking to the Guardian he said: "Without sounding too monstrously pretentious, I grew up considering myself a theatre actor. It was where I started out.

"Film came into my life through my theatre work, so I'm always looking for the right play and the right time. I hope that time might be soon."

"I wanted to come back and act, but for personal and economic reasons I had to forgo the opportunity.

"I loved going into film but now it may be the time to move back."
