Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has denied reports that he would be taking over Tom Cruise as the star of the �Mission Impossible� franchise.

Cruise and Paramount pictures went their separate ways after 14 years of making movies together.

A rep for Pitt has claimed the rumours were "totally made up" and Paramount has stated that claims Pitt was to be paid �52million for a one-movie deal were a "complete fabrication."

I knew Pitt would not stoop so low�yet.
