Madonna has once again denied any wrongdoing appearing on a mock crucifix during her Confessions on a Dancefloor tour.
The pop megastar has come under widespread criticism from Christian groups calling her act blasphemous.
A priest in Holland even admitted to carrying out a hoax bomb threat in order to stop a Madge show going ahead.
In a fresh statement, the 48-year-old said: "It is no different than a person wearing a cross... my performance is neither anti-Christian, sacrilegious or blasphemous.
"It is my plea to the audience to encourage mankind to help one another. I believe in my heart that if Jesus were alive today he would be doing the same thing."
Madonna had previously said that the crucifix stunt was to encourage the audience to donate to an AIDs charity.
