Roman Polanski To Recieve Lifetime Achievement Award
Film director Roman Polanski is to receive a lifetime achievement award at this years European Film Awards.

Despite making classic films like Chinatown, The Pianist and Rosemarys Baby Polanski has had a traumatic and coloured life.

In 1969 his actress wife Sharon Tate was murdered by Charles Manson while she was carrying Polanskis baby.

Then, in the 1970s Polanski was forced to leave America after he was accused of having sex with a 13 year old; he has never been able to return. When he won an Academy Award in 2003 Harrison Ford travelled to France to present his award.

His award will be presented to him in Warsaw on December 2.
