Weisz first hit the big time with her role as Evelyn Carnahan in the �horror� film which co-starred in with US actor Brendan Frazer.
It had been rumoured that neither Weisz nor Frazer would be starring in the third instalment of the film series.
However, according to Ananova Weisz recently said: "I know there's a new script but I haven't read it yet.
"Nothing's definite yet and should the film be done, it's probably going to happen next summer. And if so, I would definitely like to be in it".
Weisz is currently starring in �The Fountain� with Hugh Jackman.
