Australian actress Nicole Kidman has lashed out at fellow thespian Angelina Jolie for using her charity work as a means of getting publicity.
Kidman is about to take a trip to India in her first engagement as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Kidman claimed that Jolie receives far too much attention for her charity work, all the while drawing attention to her own forthcoming trip.
She said: "It's not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital but she's getting the publicity for her contribution.
"I have a friend who is a doctor and every year he works in Africa for two months for no money. So everyone is on the same playing field, whether you offer your services as the doctor or as Angelina does."
Is Kidman totally dumb or what?
In other Kidman news, a new biography of her claims that she is �self-obsessed�.
The author of the new book, US film critic David Thomson spoke at length to Kidman and has described her as a fame seeker who used her husband Tom Cruise to grab the lime light.
However, Kidman�s agent has rubbished Thomson�s claims and said: "Nicole has never met David Thomson - she has only spoken to him briefly on the phone about her acting processes and various films." She agreed to the interview only because she was under the impression he was writing a series of film essays.�
Thomson has in the past admitted to having a huge crush on Kidman, could this book be some twisted form of revenge?
