Stars Out In Force At MTV's VMAs

Last night?s MTV?s Video Music Awards saw performances from some of the best acts in the world including Beyonce Knowles, Justin Timberlake, Lou Reed and Shakira.

The big surprise of the evening was for Madonna who despite being nominated for five awards failed to win anything.

The event was hosted by funny man Jack Black at the New York Radio City Music Hall where he was joined by a host of pop stars, rap stars and celebrities.

Only James Blunt and Gnarls Barkley managed to win more then one award with Blunt picking up the Best Male Video award and the Best  Cinematography for his ?You?re Beautiful? video.

Best rock video: AFI, Miss Murder
Best pop video: Pink, Stupid Girls
Best new artist: Avenged Sevenfold, Bat Country
Viewers' choice: Fall Out Boy, Dance Dance
