Beyonce has warned fans not to use her maple syrup diet saying that she is proud of her curves.
The former Destinys Child singer has caused a craze in recent days after she revealed that she lost a stone in ten days on the liquid based fast.
The diet insists that you drink the maple syrup mixed with water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper instead of eating normal meals.
However, health experts have warned that there is not enough nutrients in the concoction and anyone trying the diet could end up in hospital.
Beyonce lost the weight to star in the movie Dreamgirls where her character Dina started off as 16 year old in the 60s.
She said: "Back in the sixties, models like Twiggy were popular and I knew Dina would have been thin then. So even though I really love eating, it was necessary to lose weight really fast because we shot Dina at 16 and Dina at 36 two weeks apart.
"My nutritionist suggested the only way to do that was the (maple syrup) fast. As soon as it was over, I gained the weight back. I'm very conscious of being a curvy woman and I'm very happy that I am a curvy woman."
"I would never recommend it to anyone unless you are doing a movie and it's necessary, and you have proper help."
