Organisers of the Ibiza Rocks festival were forced to cancel the recent Babyshambles gig after Pete Doherty failed to be able to procure a passport.

After discovering that his passport had expired, Doherty frantically tried to get another in time, but was told by officials at the passport office that the photos he had submitted were not acceptable.

A source told the Sun: �Pete�s head was leaning forward. It looked like he was nodding off so the photos were rejected.�

A friend added to the Mirror: �It�s typical Pete. He was having a laugh and thought he�d get away with it. But the passport people have strict guidelines and don�t make exceptions for rock stars.�

Babyshambles had been expected to play at a sell out gig at Bar M in San Antonio and his girlfriend Kate Moss was to join him on stage to sing �Belle Et La Bete�.

An Ibiza Rocks spokesman said: �Everyone�s disappointed. We regret that we have cancelled the show. It�s a shame but we had no choice.�

�Pete is a very good friend of Bar M so we are very forgiving. We are hoping to bring him back in September.�

I wouldn�t count your chickens about that�.
