Pop star Justin Timberlake has revealed that his ancestors were British during a recent TV interview.
Speaking on ITVs GMTV, Timberlake explained that after looking into his family tree, he discovered that his family were of British descent.
He said to GMTV presenter Kate Garraway: "I've had my genealogy studied and I want to say that I am of British descent."
"There was a British lad who was in a war, not sure which war, but he ran away from the war because he fell in love with an Indian girl, and that's where my family tree started."
"I grew up in a small town. If I showed you where I lived you'd really think I'd come a long way."
Timberlakes new album Future Sex/Love Sounds is out on September 11.
