The new James Bond actor, Daniel Craig has revealed how stunned he was by the backlash of his casting as the secret agent.

After Pierce Brosnan was replaced by the much younger and much blonder Craig, Bond fans launched campaigns to have Craig sacked and are threatening to boycott the new film ?Casino Royale? when it is released.

However, Craig only became more determined to do a good job and said all the criticism spurred him on.

According to BreakingNews he said: "I didn't expect this backlash. You take it in, you can't help it. I've been trying to give 110% since the beginning but after all the fuss, maybe I started giving 115%."

Sean Connery will always be first in my heart as Bond, but I believe Daniel Craig will bring back the underlying darkness & danger that has been missing for years. Read the original books & you’ll see what I mean. I have not seen all that Daniel has done, but enough that I was not at all surprised when he was chosen. Apparently someone else has seen what lurks behind those blue eyes. I’m looking forward to the new Bond.

I was once a huge Bond fan. I think I saw ”Diamonds Are Forever” in the theatre over 20 times. However, sad to say, those days are gone. I have no desire to see Casino Royale or Daniel Craig as Bond. When my dad died, I didn’t want to see him lying in his casket. I wanted to remember how he looked in better times. I guess I feel the same way about James Bond. R.I.P. Mr. Bond. It wasn’t SPECTRE who killed you, it was the children of the late Cubby Broccoli.

Honestly I agree with what people say here and I went in with an open mind about him being Bond. However despite what others have already said the film lacks that Bond feel. It is more like a generic action film than a Bond film. Everybody knows Bond plays BACCARAT not Texas Hold’em. Bond is dark haired and is not short. I mean why remake a tv special instead of making a new movie and a new script. I admit Daniel Craig tried hard to be Bond but this movie doesn’t fit well with the Bond theme.
