Columbian popstar Shakira has done her bit for world peace by calling for an immediate end to the escalating violence in Israel and Lebanon.
The Grammy-winning singer, 29, who is part-Lebanese herself, says she has been horrified by the loss of innocent life in the conflict between Hezbollah and the Israeli army ? and wants to see an immediate diplomatic solution.
She says, ?War is not the answer. War is not the solution to any conflict - not today, not in this century.
"I am sad, like the rest of the world is, to know that because of this conflict so many innocent mothers and children are dying.
"We want something better for the kids of the world. We don't need leaders that create more divisions and resentment and more hatred. We need leaders that care about the people."
Well, we may scoff, but there hasn?t exactly been an outpouring of opinion from other figures in the music community has there?
On second thoughts, we think we?ve heard enough from Bono already?
