A plan by farmer turned festival mogul Michael Eavis to trademark the name Glastonbury has got local businesses in the surrounding area up in arms.
Eavis says that with the ever increasing popularity of the festival the name should be trademarked to protect it for the use of Glastonbury Festivals Limited.
The company has applied to the Office of Harmonization within the EU for a license for the name alongside others including Glastonbury Festival and Glastonbury & Avalon but many are not happy.
The local council are due to meet this evening to discuss this issue and the Glastonbury District Chamber of Commerce and Trade will make a statement afterwards.
However, local Mayor John Coles says it is all a misunderstanding.
He told the BBC: "There are people objecting to Michael using the name Glastonbury because if he does get the monopoly - which I don't believe he is trying to do - then no-one will be able to trade under the name of Glastonbury."
