The Black Entertainment Television Awards featured performances from the best in hip hop, R&B and gospel music as well as recognising contributions from actors and athletes.
Jamie Foxx won an award for Best Collaboration with Kanye West on his hit track �Gold Digger�, on receiving the award Foxx said: "I want to thank everybody, just everybody,"
West added: "Y'all are stepping up black music. This is the best music right here, and we've got to keep on giving it to them like that.�
Mary J Blige picked up the Best Female Artists gong while Prince won Best Male Artist, he said of his award: "This was unexpected; I appreciate it nonetheless."
Performances on the night came from Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Chris Brown, Mary J Blige, Prince, Beyonce, Jay Z and Busta Rhymes.
