View co-host Star Jones Reynolds announced yesterday that she would be leaving the show at the end of the series.
However, the shows network, ABC has reportedly asked the well known presenter to leave immediately.
Star said yesterday on the show: "Something's been on my heart for a little bit, and after much prayer and counsel I feel like this is the right time to tell you that the show is moving in another direction for its tenth season and I will not be returning as co-host next year."
Co-host Joy Behar then said: "That's shocking to me,"
While the shows creator, Barbara Walters said: "It is a new chapter for Star. It will be a new chapter for the View in the fall."
Star has to date spent nine years helping build up the show alongside fellow hosts Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and the recently departed Meredith Viera and will be leaving the show under a cloud.
A source close to Star told People magazine: "ABC has asked her not to return to the View tomorrow morning."
Star had revealed to People that the real reason for her leaving the show was because ABC refused to renew her contract, she told People: "What you don't know is that my contract was not renewed for the tenth season,"
"I feel like I was fired."
Star said to the 'View audience yesterday: "I'm not sure what the future holds, but I'm absolutely sure who holds the future."
A lesser TV network no doubt
