British actress Rachel Weisz has given birth to a baby boy in New York.

The 35 year old Oscar winning luvvie who is engaged to director Aronofsky gave birth to the baby boy on Wednesday at a New York hospital.

A spokeswoman for Weisz said that both mother and baby were "happy, healthy, wonderful".

According to the BBC, Weisz�s next film role will be in the Aronofsky directed drama �The Fountain� starring opposite Hugh Jackman out later this year.
