Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines has admitted she regrets apologising for slagging off President George W Bush as she has no respect for the man.
Well, who does?
Anyway, Maines first caused outrage when she said at a London gig in 2003: "Just so you know, we're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas."
She later apologised for the comment after the Chicks were banned from numerous country music stations, this is something she deeply regrets.
Speaking to Time magazine, Maines said: "I apologized for disrespecting the office of the President,"
"But I don't feel that way anymore. I don't feel he is owed any respect whatsoever."
"It was awesome to be angry, to be sure that you're right and that the things you do matter. You don't realize that you're not feeling those feelings until you do. And then you realize how much more interesting life is."
At least she is willing to stand up for what she believes inkind of.
