Tonight is the final of American idol meaning it is the last chance for the finalists Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee to win the support of the American publicbut who will reign supreme?
Idol judge Simon Cowell has put his money on Hicks but, like everyone knows, it could go either way.
Despite all of the competition between them the two finalists are at least civil to one another and in the run up to the final have been praising each other highly.
According to People magazine, Hicks said of McPhee: "She has amazing vocal runs. She's had some great moments on the show. It's so cool to see somebody that talented and with that amazing vocal talent, just to be able to watch them. I'm a fan."
McPhee, not to be outdone by Hicks modesty said of him: "I think Taylor's main advantage is that he's really free on stage. I get nervous and clench up. That's something Taylor is really, really great at. We're both so different."
Whoever wins, tonights show is destined to be an all out battle as Hicks and McPhee sing for votes, Hicks added: "This finale is going to be awesome,"
There are so many things that are going to happen with me that I really can't share with you. I wish I could. There are so many moments for me and Katharine both that are just very special. It's going to be a unique finale."
Tune in to see the finalists perform
