The Da Vinci Code may have failed to impress critics at the Cannes Film festival but its premieres after party certainly pleased the party goers.
The party ended up costing a massive 700,000
A source told the Mirror: They invited 500 people to the after party in the port where a big black pyramid like the one in the Louvre had been set up. It was champagne and incredible food all night. There was a spectacular light show and acrobats abseiled from the ceiling while scenes from the film played on the walls.
Wow, sounds like quite a night, but it obviously wasnt enough to please the critics, one BBC reviewer wrote of the film: While the plot worked its magic on the pages, it does not transfer well to the screen - here, it is long and it is dull.
Oh dear. Nevertheless, despite the less then glowing reviews, this film should at least manage to recoup its 66million production and publicity costs.
The film hits cinemas in the UK from tonightcheck it out.
