Stars of the Da Vinci Code were out in force at the Cannes Film Festival despite the film receiving some very bad reviews.
However, director Ron Howard seemed untroubled by the bad reviews, and according to the BBC, he said: "I stopped prognosticating a long time ago,"
Earlier this week Howard advised that people who felt they would be upset by the religious nature of the film should refrain from seeing it.
"Given the controversial nature of this story there's no question the film is likely to be upsetting to some people.
"This is supposed to be entertainment. It is not theology. It should not be misunderstood as such."
Hanks who play Robert Langdon in the film added: "This is not a documentary. This is emotional fiction.
Youd think people would have cottoned on to that fact by nowthe film is certain to be a box office smash whether or not the reviews are bad or good.
