Radio 1 Warn Fans About Bogus One Big Weekend Passes

The BBC are warning fans against buying bogus backstage passes for Radio 1s One Big Weekend on the internet.

Counterfeit passes for the event are fetching stupid amounts of money on eBay with one example passing the 7,000 mark. Real tickets for the event are fetching around 100 on the site.

Radio1 have now invalidated all backstage passes and the seller has been told to return the money to the buyers.

A Radio 1 spokesman said: "Obviously Radio 1 is totally against people profiting from what is a free music event.
"Unfortunately with all major ticketed events there is the chance that people will auction tickets off."

They added that although the police were facing an uphill struggle, "We've got a serious security presence at the event."

Amongst those set to appear at the two day event are Muse, Snow Patrol, The Streets, Keane and Editors.

One Big Weekend takes place on May 13 and 14.
