Everyone�s favourite cuddly, yellow bear Winnie the Pooh has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Pooh joins other animated stars Donald Duck, Snow White and Mickey Mouse amongst the parade of stars.

The honey loving bear was there flocked by fans to unveil the award as part of Disney�s celebrations for his 80th birthday.

"Animated characters are an important part of the industry now. Some of the movies the studios are putting out don't do so well, but animated characters are doing great business,� said Hollywood mayor Johnny Grant at the ceremony.

The creation of AA Milne Pooh first appeared on Christmas Eve 1925 as part of a cartoon entitled �The Wrong Sort of Bees�.
