Jessica Simpson has confirmed that she is in the running to play the role of Lucy Ewing in the new film version of �Dallas�.
The singer/actress has met with film�s producers but does not have the role in the ag just yet.
She said to MTV that winning the role would be an honour for me. I'm a Texas girl, so you can't go wrong there.
"However it all works out, I'm just kind of going with the flow. One day at a time."
However, she has other people then just the film�s producers to worry about. Charlene Tilton who played Ewing in the original 1980�s soap has declared Simpson too old for the part.
Others rumoured to be in the film include John Travolta, Luke Wilson and Catherine Zeta Jones.
